Sorting things out

I feel a bit unoriginal posting some similar photos, but shooting a sunrise in the same location two days in a row forced me to look a things a bit differently. I’ve been so opposed to shooting in the same location more than once, but I realized it takes some time and practice to really fully realize an environment. There are many more shots to be had at this beautiful spot.

P.S. Be sure to check out my friend Drew’s shots from this morning

Fantastic! My favourites are the second one, with the high voltage sign, and the cross section of the tree. Love the tones.

I love the B&W frosted plant.

Those power line things always make for such awesome shots. I especially love the cross-section of the tree stump. At first, all you see is this huge, vivid circle. But as you stare at it longer, you all kinds of etchings and pathways going all different directions, and the chaotic crack towards the center of the trunk. I also love the B&W frosted plant, immediately after the tree stump. There's so much contrast happening there -- dark vs. light, soft + hard. The curly shape seems to add movement to the photo, too. Beautiful.
